SpecTempo helps freelancers stop scope creep and start scope clarity. It is built around defining what is in and out of scope, generating structured scope documents from pasted briefs or notes with AI, and keeping clients aligned through shareable views and formal approvals.
The Challenge
Freelancers routinely lose time and margin to vague briefs, informal change requests, and misaligned client expectations. The product needed to make boundaries explicit, make changes legible (cost and timeline impact), and give clients a frictionless way to review and approve without another login.
The Approach
Shipped a focused workflow: create a project from a brief, generate scope sections and items with AI, share read-only scope views through magic links, and run change requests from assessment through resolution. Added project-aware AI assistance (Benson), drag-and-drop scope organization, print-ready documents with numbered sections and a table of contents, and a complete audit history for decisions and approvals.
